ElectroPlastique #2 (2006)

2-screen temporal composition, presented as realtime software using Processing and OpenGL. First developed for the Club Transmediale 2006, where it was part of the Images d'Ameublement series and functioned as an ambient visual space for 3 nights.

The three nights featured very different music, from the Amiga hardcore of Next Life to the melodic jazz of Hanne Hukkelberg and the ironic electronica of Felix Kubin. To deal with this, the system was built with visual parameters that would be different on each night. For the hardcore evening, spiky shapes and shades of red, purple and gray were used. Over the next two nights, more shapes became available, along with friendlier colors.

Conceptually, this is a follow-up to ElectroPlastique #1. Both pieces examine the plastic qualities of a single visual system over time.

The video to the right shows the system in a single-screen, accelerated form.
